Lively refuses to settle on her sexual harassment lawsuit, insisting on her day in court.

A New York City judge has postponed the trial date for Blake Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit against “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios team.
Following a discovery hearing on Tuesday morning (Dec. 9), Judge Lewis Liman informed attorneys for both Lively and Baldoni that he had to postpone the trial as criminal trials will take precedence. The March 9, 2026 trial date has been moved to May 18, pushing the trial back more than two months.
Due to the burdens of the court system, Liman suggested the respective sides consider a potential settlement in the headline-hogging case.
As previously reported, Baldoni’s $4oo million counter suit was dismissed earlier this year. Lively is currently asking for damages in the realm of $5oo million, specifically for damages to her reputation, brand businesses, and the stress put on her and Ryan Reynold’s family.
The next significant date will be January 22, during which lawyers will argue Baldoni and Wayfarer’s summary judgement — filed last month to have the case dismissed.
Baldoni and Wayfarer’s head lawyer, Alexandra Shapiro, filed the motion at the 11th hour. The motion requested for most of the documents, depositions and exhibits related to Baldoni’s pre-trial bid to be kept out of the public eye.
“To be clear, the Wayfarer Parties do not believe that much of this material should be sealed, especially to the extent it includes Blake Lively’s contemporaneous communications with others about her work on the film, which are central to the dispute at hand,” Shapiro said in a letter accompanying Judge Liman’s pitches.
Shapiro continued: “...the Wayfarer Parties request that the Court not rule on this letter motion to seal for one week, so that the parties can meet and confer and so that any party may file motions for continued sealing if they so choose.”
Lively has made it clear that she’s against any settlement in her sexual harassment lawsuit. Baldoni is expected to file a response to Lively’s opposition by the end of the week.
Neither Baldoni nor Lively's team responded to the press’ calls for comment.
