Trey Songz Arrested and Arraigned for Allegedly Assaulting a Club Employee and Causing Property Damage

The “Bottoms Up” singer found himself in court to answer for charges relating to two incidents at two different NYC establishments.

Tremaine Neverson, professionally known as Trey Songz, was arrested for allegedly punching a club employee after a night out in the Big Apple. 

Neverson and his friends were partying at Dramma Night Club on Dec. 4 when an employee informed them of the club closing at 4 a.m. The singer didn’t like that as he allegedly became irate, leading him to punch the employee in the face. The employee allegedly suffered from “swelling and substantial pain.”

The 41-year-old singer was arraigned on Sunday, December 14 for a separate incident that happened earlier that day. Neverson was spending time at Mira, a Mediterranean and hookah lounge in Manhattan, when he allegedly damaged around $1,500 worth of the restaurant’s property. 

Regarding the employee at Dramma, they were granted an order of protection against Neverson — who happens to be a regular at the nightclub. Neverson was charged with assault for the incident at Dramma while charged with mischief in the second degree for the incident at Mira. 

He left court with a hood covering his face and he refused to speak with the press, according to Page Six. The court released him under specific conditions as the judge noted the singer’s history of run-ins with the law.

“Separately, last night Trey was confronted by individuals who instigated a confrontation and attempted to surround him,” a statement from Neverson’s legal team read. “His security intervened to protect him and contain the situation, and an altercation occurred in the ensuing confusion.” 

Neverson’s legal team notes that the “Na Na” singer will cooperate in the case, and hopes the facts come to light.

The allegations have been unproven and no witness statements have been released. With his next court date set for Feb. 18, Neverson’s case will head to Manhattan Criminal Court.
