MTV Cancels “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” After Eight Seasons

The spin-off to the network’s smash hit will come to an end after the upcoming season.
MTV bids farewell to “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” as the show heads into the second half of its final season.
The network confirmed the news in a press release published on Wednesday (March 4). Every single cast member from the original run of “Jersey Shore,” including Deena Córtese and Sammy “Sweetheart” Giancola, will star in the final season.
“The ‘Shore’ family is going bigger than ever, celebrating the moments that made this franchise a cultural phenomenon,” MTV said in a statement. “The all-new season is packed with fist-pump worthy milestones and unforgettable moments, from pregnancies and baby showers to bachelorette parties, gender reveals, ab reveals, births, birthdays, weddings and more.”
As MTV pulls the plug on the series, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi insinuates the party will continue. Polizzi posted an Instagram Reel that featured the entire cast saying various one-liners, which all insinuate the cast will keep fist-pumping in the near future.
“Legends don’t retire — they reroute. The network changed. The legacy didn’t. Jersey Shore is forever. Just wait until you see what’s next,” Polizzi wrote in the caption.
“Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” premiered in 2018 as a revival reunion series to the hit series, bringing together the original “Jersey Shore” cast. Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola wouldn’t join the revival series until the second half of its sixth season, which premiered January 2023.
Since its original run, beginning in 2009, “Jersey Shore” has become a pop culture phenomenon. In the 300 episodes and various spinoffs, fans have grown up with the cast as they experienced the highs of partying in Seaside Heights, the lows of toxic relationships, and the in between.
